At Essex Elite, our goal isn't to promise pathways into professional academies or place pressure on young players to become the next professional footballer.

Our focus is much simpler.

We want to help children become confident, competent footballers who love playing the game.

We believe every young player deserves the opportunity to learn the foundations of football properly.

Children develop at different speeds and begin their football journeys in different places. Some are kicking a ball for the very first time, while others may already be playing regularly for a grassroots team.

Whatever their starting point, strong foundations matter.

Our coaching focuses on the fundamental skills young players need — including ball mastery, passing, receiving, movement, decision-making, confidence in possession and an understanding of how to play both individually and as part of a team.

Without enough time spent developing these areas, players can pick up habits that become increasingly difficult to change as they get older. More importantly, struggling with the ball can affect a child's confidence and ultimately how much they enjoy playing football.

Development Without Pressure

Essex Elite isn't about creating pressure around trials, scouts or professional academies.

Of course, some players may develop to a level where opportunities within professional academies arise — and if they do, that's fantastic.

But that isn't how we measure success.

Success to us is seeing a child who was once nervous receiving the ball begin asking for it.

It's seeing a player become comfortable using both feet.

It's seeing them understand where to move, when to pass and when to travel with the ball.

It's watching them take what they've learned at Essex Elite into their grassroots matches.

And, most importantly, it's seeing them walk onto a football pitch feeling confident, capable and excited to play.

Working Alongside Grassroots Football

We're not here to replace grassroots football.

We're here to complement it.

Grassroots football provides children with fantastic opportunities to be part of a team, make friends, compete and experience matches.

Our role is to provide additional, dedicated coaching time where players can work on the technical foundations and understanding of the game that can help them get even more enjoyment from those experiences.

Whether your child is just beginning their football journey, already plays for a grassroots team but needs support with the foundations, or simply wants additional coaching to improve their game, Essex Elite can help.
